"Lights On AfterSchool"

 

On Wednesday, October 14, 2009, Valverda Elementary School held its annual Family Literacy, Math, and Technology Night. Approximatley 100 students and parents attended. Teachers in grades PK-6th, as well as Headstart shared meaningful reading and math activities and websites with students and parents.

 

The gym was decorated with student work samples and a slideshow of students engaged in reading, writing, math, and technology related activities played throughout the evening.

 

Parents and students were also allowed to shop at the Scholastic Book Fair being held in the Library. Refreshments  were enjoyed by all and door prizes were given to the students in each grade level.
